Raw Hellenic (Greek) Old School Pagan Black Metal

Before the Circle

Chris “Ancient Scholar” Tsichlas was the guitarist, vocalist, composer and co-founder of the underground Death Metal band “Sickness”, from 1994 to 2001.
The band was based in Athens and released two demos:
“Primordial Brutality” in 1995.
“Enthroned” in 1998 and the “Promo 99” in 1999 which was the band’s last official release.

After that, Chris decided to split up “Sickness” and experimented with a few other projects in Death and Black Metal for a couple of years.

In 2004 he also bought a Cretan Lute and begun to study the traditional music of his origin place, which is the island of Crete.
Chris also moved permanently in 2006 to Crete, in order to focus more to his music and to live close to Nature, in the peaceful environment of his village, away from the “harmful” big city life.

“Pythagorean Circle” his latest musical project, has been created and formed in 2021, as a way to express his esoteric need to play the “Old School Black Metal” of the 90s, which he new and loved as a teenager.
Chris found his calling with Pythagorean Circle.
A Hellenic Pagan Black Metal Project, on an Everlasting Quest for Ancestral Wisdom. Returning to Paganism through the Old Heathen Ways. For our Altars and Hearths, For the Gods of our Forefathers, for Blood and Soil.
